Apple Bay Play is really excited to be teaming up with Bramley Hill Counselling to offer a new service from our office in Basepoint Business Centre.

Bramley Hill Counselling is able to work with clients of all ages. They offer a person-centred approach with each session being tailored to the clients own needs. This also involves the use of Cognitive Behaviour therapy (CBT) to help change certain thoughts and behaviours.

Each clients sessions focuses on the issues they choose to present and time is given to a collaborative partnership between client and counsellor.

Bramley Hill Counselling aim to offer a confidential and safe environment where clients will feel at ease to explore their thoughts and feelings through a listening, empathetic and non-judgemental counsellor.

 It can be a really daunting process to contact a counsellor for the first time and can feel like a big step into the unknown, which takes a lot of courage.

Our counsellor is here to guide you through the process and make it as stress-free as possible.

Upon initial contact, Karen will offer a short assessment over the telephone where she will ask for some basic information and find out what you would like to achieve from counselling. We will then organise your first session, where we will meet in person.

About me

With over 12 years of working with children, young people and their families across Swindon, Karen naturally stepped into the world of counselling. With a background in both primary and secondary schools, Karen’s passion and skills are well developed after years of supporting students’ and parent’s mental health and wellbeing.

Karen is an accredited Triple P (Positive Parenting Programme) facilitator, offering an 8-week adult intervention to teach parents of teenagers a variety of parenting skills which support teenage development and behavioural issues. Through this programme she has had the honour of supported a number of parents to overcome various challenges

As a counsellor, Karen’s experience includes working at IPSUM for adults and young people, helping create a safe environment to support clients with a range of issues that affect their mental wellbeing. She later worked for ASPYR a private counselling practice in Royal Wootton Bassett offering counselling support to adults and children within the local community.

Karen is a member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy). As such she is committed to their professional standards, good practice guidance and Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.

 She regularly attend Supervision and is committed to Continual Professional Development (CPD). She is fully insured and has an enhanced DBS.
